Wow! What a great year 2018 has been!
With fantastic fun snow days at the start of the season thanks from the Beast from the East and then of course we’ve had a glorious hot summer with one of the sunniest periods I think Bude has ever seen.
The great weather has bought many new guests to stay in our holiday cottages in Bude this year, and it’s been a pleasure to witness them enjoying the best that Devon and Cornwall have to offer with the fantastic beaches, stunning scenery and huge choice of local attractions to visit.
Attractions in the area
As well as the great weather there have been a huge number of events taking place in Bude and the local area. The Bude annual lifeguard day parade was a great success with a full display from the RNLI, air ambulance and even an appearance from the Red Arrows!
We also had Budelicious Foodie Festival later in September showcasing the fantastic variety of quality food that our local restaurants in North Cornwall have to offer. Then of course, we at Glebe House Cottages have hosted our first beer festival with a delicious selection of local ales and ciders as well as live bands and children’s entertainment. We were thrilled with the turnout and the feedback that the Bridgerule Beer Festival 2018 received and very much look forward to hosting a second one in 2019.
Attractions at the holiday cottages
As well as the beer festival we have seen some great changes at Glebe House Cottages for 2018. We felt it was time to resurface our tennis court and are overjoyed with the results, the whole court looks brand new! It’s lovely to see so many families having a game of tennis and we are thrilled with the feedback we’ve received from the work carried out. We also increased the temperature of the outdoor swimming pool up to 30 degrees which has proven a big hit with our guests. It has been lovely to see so many people enjoying the pool and relaxing in this glorious sunshine.
2018 also saw our first Garden Show and we are delighted with the positive response guests have given us regarding the upkeep of our stunning formal gardens. Of course don’t forget that all our guests have full access to the 5 acre site here including the woodland walk, 24 hour games room, children’s adventure playground, cellar bar, hammocks and plenty more facilities here on site.
Into 2019
As we move towards the winter and into 2019 we have plenty to look forward to including a big New Years Celebration in our cellar Bar! We will be celebrating the New Year in style with a top-quality hot buffet. We also have quite a few birthday parties and anniversaries already booked for our party room for 2019, so if you have a big celebration coming up make sure you check out Glebe House Cottages. We can host parties for up to 30 people with great food, music and fantastic atmosphere all within a minutes’ walk from your holiday cottage.
It really has been a fantastic year and we would like to thank all our guests who travelled to stay at our holiday cottages in Bude. To both new and returning guests we really hope that we will see you again for another great year in 2019!
