So why not make the most of this fantastic opportunity and book a holiday in the South West? Here at our Bude holiday cottages we’ve really been looking forward to this Spring. We have even opened our heated outdoor pool early as the weather is looking so good! As we’ve already listed some fantastic things to do in Cornwall in Spring 2019, we thought it would be good to let you know about some of the fun family events taking place in Devon this Spring.

The event has been organised by the UK Garrison and Rebel Legion who are the world’s largest Star Wars costume character clubs. The groups are all volunteers who kindly donate 100% of their appearance fees to charity. This is a fantastic way to meet other Star Wars fans and find out interesting facts about the films that you may not have known.
The Milky Way Adventure Park is located just a 30 minute drive away from our Bude holiday cottages and offers something for the whole family. It has attractions from soft play and sensory areas for younger children, as well as large roller coasters and plenty of shows for everyone to enjoy. The best news is that all the extra Star Wars fun is included in the normal entry price of a day ticket to the Milky Way Adventure Park.

Lydford Gorge – Events throughout the Spring
If you’re looking to enjoy the great outdoors this Spring then why not head to dog friendly Lydford Gorge, 25 miles away from our Bude holiday cottages, near Okehampton.

Heading into Easter, Lydford Gorge is hosting a Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt between Saturday 6th and Monday 22nd April. You and your children can follow a trail through the orchard, finding out how animals make their homes. At the end of the trail you will find a yummy chocolate treat.
On Saturday 6th April, as a one off special, Lydford Gorge are hosting a family wild kitchen day. This is a great opportunity for the family to forage for wild garlic, that’s not usually allowed as the site is of special scientific interest. You will then use the garlic to make a pesto pasta dish over the campfire. You will need to book in advance for this event, costing £5.00 per adult and £3.00 per child.
There are plenty more fun family events at Lydford Gorge over the Spring including launching a bottle rocket, bug home making, making woodland bunny faces, sculpture making and much more!
